WWPA mourns loss of McKendree head coach Colleen Lischwe

The Western Water Polo Association is devastated by the sudden passing of McKendree head men's and women's water polo coach Colleen Lischwe. Colleen was a beloved member of the WWPA and McKendree community, known for her unwavering dedication to her student-athletes.

"The entire Western Water Polo Association is in mourning following the tragic news of Coach Lischwe. She built the McKendree program from the ground up and has been instrumental to our conference during an immense period of transition," said WWPA Commissioner Mike Reid. "She leaves behind a lasting legacy for her positive contributions to our conference and the world of collegiate water polo. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues in this tough time."

The WWPA will honor her memory throughout the 2025 season and the years to come.
